Dawn Lorentz has been described as one of the most charismatic female vocalists to hit the New York area in years. In the late 1990s, Dawn’s powerful and passionate voice was overheard at New York’s most sacred haunts such as the Bitter End, Village Underground, The Baggot Inn, Groove and Café Wha.
For years she fronted her first original band Sugarlily, which gained recognition as a club circuit, favorite and appeared on several TV shows including Jersey’s Talking with Lee Leonard. As a respected NJ vocalist, Dawn was honored to sing the National Anthem for the Newark Bears as well as many 9/11 tributes. In June 2003, Sugarlily was awarded the Best Singer/Songwriter of Greenwich Village in the female pop category.
In the Fall of 2004, Dawn broke out of her own as a solo artist and released “Better Days”, her song “Scared” was first heard over the airwaves of the famous Z-100 radio station. You can listen to her original music on SoundCloud. Dawn took a 10-year break from singing to focus on her health and started up a corporate wellness company Self Reboot. In 2019, she joined The Step Brothers band which is a high energy classic rock band, performing rock, blues, funk, R&B and soul hits from the 1960’s through the 2000’s. Dawn latest achievement is singing Christmas carols and spreading cheer this winter with Tim McCloone’s Holiday Express Band.
