Jess and the dropouts

Jessica Yalango (Vocals; Bass) and Daniel Pitzer (Guitar) have been making noise together since being pulled off the streets of Red Bank, NJ in 2021. One fateful night in early 2023, Michael Spitz (Guitar) walked in, Tim Enny stepped up to fill in for someone who “dropped out,” and Jess & The Dropouts were born! With Tim taking on a producer role, the addition of Joe Perskie on drums in late 2023 and Mike Duffy on keys in early 2024, the band was complete. 

Raised through decades of rock music, their sound is shaped by a variety of alt-rock artists. From Blink-182, to Melissa Etheridge, to The Misfits, to Beck, their influences are vast and it shows in the craftsmanship of their songs. Members of Jess & The Dropouts have gigged at CBGB’s, The Stone Pony, Wonderbar, Asbury Lanes, The Vogel, and Bar A both individually and through Lakehouse Music Academy showcases, where they all met. Performing covers of the music that shaped them, with a heavy influence of alternative rock, was what got them started, and the love of creating together has pushed them to write original music together. 

Combining the music that made them with what they were inspired to create fills up their set lists, setting the stage for a mix of rock nostalgia and originality. Jess & The Dropouts are currently working on their first studio album, set to come out 2025!”
