Nicole Suissa is a proud mom, lawyer, Tedx speaker and young Athena professional leadership award finalist. She holds a JD from Penn State Law and a BA from the University of Hartford where she sits on the Alumni Board of Directors and mentors students. She shares her love of music and song with her 8-year-old daughter, Sarah. Nicole has been singing all her life, though she was never formally trained. As a once homeless youth in New York City over 20 years ago, Nicole recognizes the value that Applaud Our Kids brings to underprivileged youth and is proud to support their mission. She credits her own success and perseverance to her love of music, academia, her mother, and the various adults throughout her life that took an interest in mentoring her as she grew. She dedicates her performance at the Soiree tonight to her late Stepmother, Rosemarie, who died four years ago of ALS. Rosemarie was Nicole's middle school music teacher, and the song she chose to perform tonight was the last song Nicole sang to her stepmom before she passed.
